Platt Perspective on Business and Technology

Social networking and the arts

This series touches upon a number of issues involving the arts and in all their forms, and from all cultures and nationalities. My focus here is in how the arts as expression of our true values and as media of communications enter into and inform our social networking and our communities.

1. The arts as a celebration of diversity, the arts as a celebration or our underlying communality.
2. World Olympus – a new international arts festival celebrating regional arts with a global reach.
3. The arts and similar avenues towards shared understanding of value.
4. In defense of art: creative expression and its challenges.
5. Social networking, tolerance and empowering the larger community.
6. Digital art and the challenge of technological change 1.
7. Digital art and the challenge of technological change 2.
8. What do potlatches, bagpipes and indigenous languages hold in common – the challenge of uniformity and loss of cultural identity.
